Arnold

Even this product is designed for the new Swedish brand Tre Sekel. The idea came up when a conference room in Tibro in southern Sweden would be decorated and there was no stackable chair in wood stacked very short, meaning that the pile of stacked chairs is not very high. We also wanted a lightweight chair, and then the choice fell naturally on saddle stripes, as it is not at all the same weight as a wooden seat. I have always liked Axel Larsson’s chair that we have at home with saddle stripes, always thought it was beautiful and practical. Arnold is a lightweight, practical, elegant and stackable chair that will last a long time.

Tre Sekel makes all the furniture in locally grown high quality birch wood grown in Dalarna, Västergötland and Värmland. The wood has been cut at a sawmill in Alingsås which Tre Sekel has worked with for generations. They select the best birch to make extra strong and durable furniture. Another advantage of the Swedish birch is that there is no risk of it breaking off handsomely as can happen with timber moving between different climates. After the wood has been cut in Alingsås shipped to Tibro, about two hours away, the entire sofa is manufactured in the factory in Tibro. It is then painted by hand. Egg tempera, a completely natural finish consisting of eggs, flax oil , pigments, water and 0.01 percent preservative – only the minimum needed for the paint to survive in room temperature without rotting. This type of finish has been around for about 1,000 years and was very popular during the 1700s. It just keeps getting stronger with each passing year.

Name: Comes from my grandfather Arnold who taught me a lot. Among other things, what a window-pine is for example. That is, of course, a pine made of the right wood to make window. Therefore, it makes me extra happy that the sawmill in Alingsås selects the right wood for Tre Sekel’s furniture. Then you will know that the product will last.

The dimensions of the chair are 45 cm wide, 40 cm seat depth and 78 inches high.
